Entry 1: Exploring Tech History - The Linus Torvalds Chronicle

Date: 08/05/2026 | Category: Tech History & Reading

As part of my English learning process, I wrote a chronicle about Linus Benedict Torvalds, the most influential software engineer of the digital age. My text explores how a simple child's fascination with machine code evolved into a global revolution.  In 1991, Torvalds announced a free operating system project, calling it "just a hobby". That hobby became the Linux kernel. He is also the creator of Git, which is now the world standard for software collaboration. Through his story, I learned that open collaboration is the most powerful tool for technological progress.
